More Updates!

Well, it's been a while since I wrote on here. So, I thought I would do a short update.

I have had some interviews these past couple of weeks. I interviewed with Mulvane 2 weeks ago and still have not heard anything, so I am assuming that I did not get that position. I interviewed for a 5th grade position at Swaney in Derby last Friday and they said they would know by this Friday. I have an interview today for a 1st grade position at Pleasantview in Derby and an interview next week for a 2nd grade position in Wellington. So, that is the update on my job searching. I wish I could update with an actual position...hopefully that will happen SOON!

Shawn is loving his new job in Wellington. He is 1 of the 2 district technology guys so he works with the computers at all the schools in the district. He is enjoying learning the ropes and I think he'll be there for a few years at least!

Hunter went to the dr. for his 2 month appt. yesterday. He is 36 1/2 in tall (92nd percentile)
and he weighed 27 lbs. 10 ozs. (50th percentile). His head was in the 75th percentile and it has normally been at the 90th so that is an improvement!!! :D Dr. Stewart said he is doing EXTREMELY well. He does a lot of things that 3 and 4 year olds do, so he's ahead of the game! He's very smart and picks up on new things VERY quickly. He was very impressed that he knew his ABCs, counted to 12, and knew his shapes and colors. He said...and I quote "You can tell his mother is a teacher!" :D

Kira is doing GREAT! She was about 7 lbs. 14 ozs. with her clothes on yesterday. She was also about 21 in. long so she is growing very quickly (at least in her length). She is more alert and is smiling a lot and is happy all the time (unless she's hungry or has dirty pants...or her brother hurts her).

The house we like it still on the market...so hopefully it is still there when I get a job (if that ever happens!) We're looking forward to owning our own home! Scary and exciting...all at the same time! Tomorrow is our big move day. My grandma and great great aunt came up yesterday and helped pack ALL DAY! They pretty much have everything packed up. They are the greatest! Couldn't have done it without them. Tomorrow, we are all going up to load the moving truck and bring it back to my grandma's garage (AKA our storage unit) until we can get into a house. It's going to be a VERY long next couple of days.

Well, I think that is all for now. Hope everyone is doing well and I can't wait to update with a new job and a house soon (HOPEFULLY!)

House and Job Hunting!

Well, we've been moving things into storage on each trip down this way. We are now living with my parents, and hopefully we'll be getting a house sooN! We went looking on Thursday and we found a house that we LOVE! It's in Mulvane, so we'll still be pretty close to Nana and Papa! :D Here is a picture and the link to the house!

It's perfect and move in ready! We can't get our loan until I have a contract though. So, now we're just waiting! I have an interview this afternoon with Mulvane, so I'm hoping this one will work out! It's for a 2nd grade position at Munson. Keeping my fingers crossed for this one! We REALLY REALLY want this house! And, I REALLY REALLY want a job! :D Hehehe! So, let's just kill 2 birds with 1 stone and get this taken care of! I'm hoping to be moving into our own place around the end of this month! That would be great! Shawn loves his new job! He actually enjoys going to work in the mornings and having his evenings and weekends off to spend with us! YEAH! It's going to be SO nice!

Wellington Job

Well, I just heard from Wellington and I didn't get the job. He said that they had a 45 minute discussion because they liked us both. I was SO close!!! So, off to looking for more jobs again! I looked at a few new ones last night and have some emails out to principals. So, hopefully we'll hear from someone soon!

Hunter loves to read his books. We have packed up most of his books and toys for the move, so he is really learning the stories that we read over and over! He loves to read his books to Kira and he loves to hold her and hug her. He is such a great big brother. :)

Hunter turned 2 on Wednesday, April 30th! He loves to sing Happy Birthday to himself quite often now. It's super cute! We're having his birthday party on Friday, May 9th at 7:00 at Nana and Papa's house. Please join us if you can...I know it is late notice, but we wanted to try to squeeze one in before it was way too late!

1st road trip

Last Sunday, we took Kira on her 1st road trip to Nana and Papas house! She did great...not even a squeak on the way there! She got to meet the rest of the family and hang out with everyone while Mommy went to her interview. And, we survived our 1st trip back with both kids! It helped that Hunter slept most of the way...timing is everything!

Well, I wanted to let everyone know where we are going to be during the month of May because there are going to be TONS of trips between Emporia and Mulvane.

6th-9th - All in Mulvane
10th-11th - All in Emporia
12th-14th - All in Mulvane
15th-16th - Jen and Kira in Emporia
17th - 18th - All in Mulvane
19th - 26th - Jen and kids in Emporia, Shawn in Emporia 24th - 26th
27th - 31st - Depends in what is left to move and clean in Emporia. Hopefully we will be finished on the 26th!

After all this, we'll be living with Mom and Dad until we can move in to a house. We are looking at some on the 6th and hopfully we will be moving into a house by mid June!

I'm still waiting to hear from Wellington about my interview. They called my references on Thursday, so hopefully I will hear from them on Monday. Keeping the fingers crossed!

Monday, Kira goes to the dr. for her 2 week check-up and Hunter goes for his 2 year check-up on Tuesday. So, we'll have updates on their growing progress soon!
