Well, we are going to be in Mulvane tonight and tomorrow morning because I have an interview with Wellington at 10am tomorrow. It's for a 4th grade position so I don't really have any materials to show them for that grade level...but I'm going to take my Kindergarten stuff and show them those!

Shawn starts his job on Wednesday, May 7th. So, we'll be home from the 6th-9th and then we'll be heading back to Emporia to work on packing for the weekend. We'll be back the evening of the 11th and then Kira and I will be back in Emporia from the 14th-17th. Then back home for graduation on the 18th and then back to Emporia for the last week of school and to finish packing. I am not going back to work, but I am going on their zoo field trip and helping out with Field Day stuff on the last day of school. So, I'm going to be up here to see the kids during the last week of school and to pack, pack, pack! We have to be out of here by the 31st of May, so we have A LOT to do before then! AGH!

Here are a few pictures of Hunter and Kira. We didn't get any pictures at the hospital because Hunter was super tired and cranky. So, we finally got some today. He loves her!

Shawn got a job!

Well, Shawn officially has a job with the Wellington School District! YEAH! He starts in 2 weeks...so that means we'll be spending some extra time in Mulvane next month! YEAH! I will keep everyone posted on our plans when we'll be in the area!

Kira Ann is Here!

Kira Ann is Here! She was born on Sunday, April 20th at 2:30pm. We went to the hospital at 3:30am and she wasn't in any big hurry to get here! She weighed 6 lbs. 15 ozs. and was 20 in. long. She has blue eyes and brown hair...yes, she actually has some hair! We are home now and we are all trying to make the adjustments. Hunter is very curious about his sister. He likes to name and point to all her little features...sometimes that's a little scary! :D But, we are all trying to get adjusted into life with a tiny baby again! Let me tell you, she definitely makes Hunter look and feel HUGE!!!

Well, went to the dr. yesterday. After waiting for 2 HOURS to see him, he was there for 2 minutes and told me that nothing has really changed. I'm about 75% effaced now, but still dilated to a 2. She hasn't been moving as much, but she still likes to kick me in the sides. Today, there wasn't much movement...so hopefully she's getting snuggled in and maybe we'll see some action soon. Hopefully, I will have pictures of her up here soon!

Hunter's wonderful fashion statement this weekend. He wanted to wear his boots and would not stop bugging me about it...so I finally gave in. He'll regret it later when he sees the pictures! :D

Well, today was the 1st day that I have actually felt a few contractions. I had a couple in front on the right side and a few in my back. Nothing consistent unfortunately, but we're getting there! Hopefully she'll be here in the next day or 2. I go to the dr. on Wednesday afternoon so if she's not here...hopefully something has changed and I"m starting to dilate more. Keep your fingers crossed!

Shawn has an interview next week with Wellington schools for a computer technician position. I'm hoping that Kira will be here so we can come home with him and visit people! We'll see! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this one...so we can live in Mulvane or Derby where we really want to be. I just don't think I'd be happy in Hutch and still being an hour away from my family and friends. So, keep praying for us so we can find jobs and get things moving on a house soon!

Still waiting!

Well, I went to the dr. on the 9th and I was still 50% effaced and dilated to about a 2. So, not much change there. She has been moving a lot today, so I don't think we're going to have any excitement anytime soon. I've been working in the kitchen this morning and went to Walmart so I am trying to do some walking and help speed this process along. I know...she's not due until the 20th, but I'm ready for her to be here! Hopefully, we'll be able to go for some walks and stuff this next week since it's supposed to be nice. I go back to the dr. on Wednesday the 16th so we'll see if anything has changed. I am however OFFICIALLY on MATERNITY LEAVE!!! YEAH!!! I don't have to go back to teach for the rest of the school year. So, I'm really looking forward to all the time I will have to spend with Hunter and Kira...and Shawn of course.

Shawn heard from the company he interviewed with and they seem really interested in him. They said that would be in contact again soon. They just want him to live in Hutch and that defeats the purpose of us moving closer to family...when we will still be an hour away from them. So, we'll have to see. I am planning on calling some schools this next week and trying to get some interviews and stuff. I am hoping that something will fall into place soon for us! I'm ready to start looking more seriously at houses so we can move into a house as soon as possible. I'm ready to be finished with apartment living! :D

The 1st picture is of me at 37 1/2 weeks. I'm now 39 weeks...8 days left! The 2nd picture is Hunter trying to walk in Shawn's sandals. He did pretty good...he didn't even fall and walked all over the living room.

Kira Update

Well, I went to the dr. last Wednesday and I was 50% effaced and dilated to a 1. So, things are slowly starting to happen! I have another appt. this Wednesday, so we'll see if anything has changed. If she's going to come early, I would love for her to come on Wednesday because that is Nana and Papa's anniversary and that would be pretty cool! But, if she's not coming then, I would like for her to wait a few more days so I can get my sub used to my class before bailing on her! We'll see!
